Painting and Calligraphy
Chinese calligraphy is an ancient Oriental art that communicates the character of the writer. In this class you will practice the eight basic brush strokes through the word "Yun". You will learn to use the brush, along with the three other “treasures of the study”: ink stick, paper, and ink stone. The novice class will practice through tracing printed words in the copybook. The intermediate class will copy model characters onto semitransparent paper. Chinese brush painting also depends on a good foundation of brush strokes. Students will paint simple yet expressive animals such as rooster, dog, and panda.
    Fun Arts
You will learn the basic techniques of drawing and more! The teacher will combine demonstrations and individual advice to maximize your creative potential. You will experiment with different mediums, such as crayons, water color, oil pastel, and glitter. See how a bear is constructed from simple circles and ovals. Learn just how versatile these art mediums are, just by differences in holding the brush! In each class you will be given a topic to draw. You can develop your own style and improve your skills. Let’s have some adventures in art!
Flower Arrangement
Learn how to design your own flower arrangement (Ikebana) to enrich your living environment. This traditional art focuses on the choice of plant material in relation to the container and the surrounding space. In each class, the teacher will demonstrate Ikebana using seasonal flowers and leaves. You will learn to use your aesthetic awareness to assemble the materials into the different styles. Come to class to share the joy and get inspired. Additional fees for all the material you'll need.
    Tai Chi
The traditional Yang-style Tai Chi Quan consists of 127 movements. We start the class with warm ups and basic movements, followed by tai chi set 1 or set 2. You will learn the importance of breathing, balance, and concentration in each graceful movement. The last part of the class will be optional weapons, including tai chi sword, tai chi fan, long staff, and wide-blade sword. The teacher combines group instruction and individual attention, whole set review and individual move breakdowns. Let tai chi help to improve your health and well-being. Join us and feel the difference yourself!
